Instructions for translators
  1. Before you start, please get acquainted with Digital First Aid Kit. You may need to re-familiarise yourself with the markdown markup language.
  2. In a front matter, translate the values to the following front matter variables only: title, summary, sidebar. Replace en in front matter variables language and permalink with your target language code, for example, id (Indonesian), fil (Filipino), my (Burmese), km (Khmer), th (Thai), etc. Keep everything else untranslated.
  3. Some pages contain a workflow. In a workflow, do not translate hyphenated headings, for example ### This-is-an-anchor-not-an-actual-heading. These headings are actually page anchors and should be flagged as read-only.
  4. If there's an issue, communicate by leaving a comment in a translation or contact the Weblate admins.

- Backups - It’s always a good idea to make sure you have backups - a lot of different backups, that you store somewhere other than the same place your data is! Depending on your context, opt for storing your backups in cloud services and in physical external devices you keep disconnected from your computer while connecting to the internet.
- For both types of backups, you should protect your data with encryption. Perform regular and incremental backups for your most important data, check that you have them ready, and test that you are able to restore them before performing software or operating system updates.
- Set up a structured folder system - Every person has their own way of organizing important data and information, there is no one size fits all. Nonetheless, it is important that you consider setting up a folder system that suits your needs. By creating a consistent folder system, you can make your life easier by better knowing which folder and files should be frequently backed up for instance, where important information you are working on is located, where you should keep data containing personal or sensitive information about you and your collaborators, and so on. As usual, take a deep breath and some time for planning the type of data you produce or manage, and think of a folder system that can make it more consistent and tidy up.
